Tirupati Rural Police Arrest YSRCP Social Media Coordinator Charan Teja for Alleged False Allegations Against MLA’s Wife
Tirupati Rural Police arrested Charan Teja, the district social media coordinator for the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), for allegedly posting false content targeting the wife of Chandragiri MLA. The controversial posts, which were shared on March 8, were claimed to contain misleading information that harmed the reputation of the MLA’s spouse.
The situation came to light when Chintakani Suresh, a member of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), filed a formal complaint with the local police. The complaint accused Teja of spreading false and inflammatory content on social media platforms. Acting swiftly on the complaint, Tirupati Rural Police launched an investigation and traced Teja, who was subsequently detained.
Upon further investigation, including an examination of Teja’s mobile phone, police discovered that this was not an isolated incident. Teja had posted similar content in the past, which could have incited public unrest. Authorities confirmed that his actions were detrimental to peace and order in the community.
A formal case has been registered against Charan Teja, and he was presented before the court for further legal proceedings. Tirupati Rural Circle Inspector Chinna Govindu issued a strong warning, stressing that spreading false propaganda on social media could lead to severe legal consequences. He assured that the police would take strict action against individuals engaging in such activities to ensure the safety and harmony of the public.
