Chandrashekhar Among 5 Held in Mandya Bike Theft Cases

Police recover 27 stolen bikes worth Rs14 lakh

The Mandya Police have detained five individuals suspected of stealing motorcycles across the districts of Mandya and Mysuru. The arrests were made in connection with two separate bike theft cases.

In the first case, police arrested Chandrashekhar, a resident of Kagehalladoddi in Mandya taluka. Investigators said he allegedly stole at least 15 motorcycles belonging to farmers. According to officials, he would first sketch the bikes parked near farms and houses, and later return to steal them and sell them.

In a separate case, police arrested Rihan Pasha, Syed Ayan, and a juvenile from Mysuru district for allegedly stealing around 12 motorcycles.

The operation was carried out by teams from the Mandya East and West police stations, who managed to recover the stolen vehicles during the investigation. In total, officers seized 27 motorcycles valued at Rs14 lakh, along with a gold chain worth Rs3 lakh from the accused.

The investigation was led by Shobha Rani, Superintendent of Police of Mandya, with a team that included Police Sub-Inspector Seshadri Kumar and personnel Lingaraju, Umar, Ravikiran, and Shivakumar Lokesh.

SP Shobha Rani commended the police team for successfully solving the cases and recovering the stolen property.
