Chandigarh Police have made a significant breakthrough in a motor vehicle theft case by arresting a 24-year-old accused and recovering five stolen motorcycles.
The case relates to e-FIR No. 1631 dated December 15, registered under Sections 303(2) and 317(2) of the BNS at the Mauli Jagran police station. The complaint was filed online by Mohit, who reported the theft of his Hero Splendor Plus motorcycle (CH-01CE-3055) from outside his residence.
During the investigation, a police team led by ASI Pardeep Kumar arrested the accused, identified as Sandeep Singh, alias Deep, a resident of Dona Mattar village, Ferozepur district, Punjab, from Mauli Complex. Acting on his disclosure, police recovered the stolen Splendor motorcycle on December 16.
The accused was produced before a local court on December 17, which sent him to a two-day police remand. During interrogation, a raid was conducted on December 18 at his native village in Ferozepur, resulting in the recovery of five motorcycles, including:
Black Royal Enfield Standard
White Royal Enfield Classic
Hero HF Deluxe
Two Hero Splendor motorcycles
Investigations confirmed that all recovered vehicles had been stolen from different parts of Chandigarh, and further legal proceedings against the accused are underway.
