Three house theft cases have been solved by Ashok Nagar police in Kalaburagi city, with the arrest of the accused involved in a series of daytime burglaries.
Addressing the media, Kalaburagi Police Commissioner Sharanappa S.D. said that valuables worth Rs8.6 lakh, including gold jewellery, silver ornaments and cash, were recovered. The arrested accused has been identified as Chandapasha Mahiboobapasha, 25, a resident of Hirapur and an employee at an RO water plant.
Investigations revealed that on October 10, Rs80,000 was stolen from the home of Anasuya Anand Raddevadagi of Biddapur Colony. On October 23, cash and jewellery worth Rs4.4 lakh were stolen from the residence of groceries businessman Kalappa Malagi, also of Biddapur Colony. On October 25, a complaint was filed reporting theft of Rs3.4 lakh in cash and gold from the house of Geeta Shivaji Kshattri of New Biddapur Colony.
Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Kannika Sikriwal and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sharanbasappa Subedar, Ashok Nagar PI Arun Kumar formed a special team consisting of ASI Shailaja, Vaijnath, Mallikarjuna Metra, Sivaprakash, Neelkantharaya Patil, Chandrasekhara and Mujahid Kotwal. The team successfully traced and arrested the suspect.
