In a late-night crackdown on drug trafficking, the Chamba police apprehended two young men near the Thulel bridge in Bhattiyat subdivision. During a routine patrol, police spotted Rahul Masih (19) from Kalanaur village, Gurdaspur district, and Dilbagh Singh (30) from Panch Garaiya village, Batala, Punjab, acting suspiciously.
A search led to the recovery of 7.17 grams of chitta (heroin) from their possession. Both have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav confirmed the arrests and reiterated the department’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking. He urged the public to report any drug-related activity confidentially, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in fighting this menace.
