Self-styled godman Chaitanyananda Saraswati was arrested by Delhi Police in Agra for allegedly sexually harassing 17 women students at a private institute. The 62-year-old had been on the run since August 4, following the filing of an FIR.

Authorities tracked Saraswati to a hotel in Agra’s Taj Ganj area, acting on multiple leads. He had fled Delhi soon after the allegations surfaced and reportedly withdrew over Rs 50 lakh from different bank accounts using fake identities.

Further investigations revealed a total of Rs 8 crore linked to Saraswati, spread across various bank accounts and fixed deposits. Police also discovered forged documents, including visiting cards fraudulently claiming his association with the United Nations and BRICS.
