The Chagalamarri Police successfully solved the theft at Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Madduru village, recovering stolen silver valued at Rs.14.76 lakh. The swift action was announced by Nandyal SP Suneel Sheoran, who commended the district police for their prompt investigation.
The case, registered as Crime No.109/2025 under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Chagalamarri Police Station, involved the theft of silver ornaments from the temple. Under SP Sheoran’s direction and DSP K Pramod’s supervision, the investigation was conducted by Allagadda Rural CI B.V. Ramana and Chagalamarri SI B S Suresh.
The accused were apprehended on January 4, 2026, near Kashireddy Nayana Ashram while heading towards Kotakandukuru village. They have been identified as:
Mamidi Krishna Kishore – Archaka/Priest
Bhagavatham Venkata Narsayya – Retired Executive Officer
Dudekula Pedda Husenayya – Gold/Silver Trader
During the arrest, authorities recovered approximately 5.8 kilograms of silver bricks and pieces, believed to be the stolen temple property. The accused will be presented in court for judicial custody.
SP Sheoran praised the coordinated efforts of DSP, CI, SI, and their teams, reiterating that Nandyal district police maintain zero tolerance towards crimes targeting religious institutions and public faith.
