Chagalamarri Temple Theft: Priest, EO & Merchant Arrested

Police recover 5.8 kg silver from temple theft suspects

Chagalamarri police on Sunday arrested three individuals in connection with the theft of silver ornaments from a temple in Nandyal district. The accused include Mamidi Krishna Kishor, a temple priest from Gayathri Nagar, Allagadda town; B. Venkata Narasaih, a retired Endowments Executive Officer of Kotakandukur village; and D. Pedda Hussainaiah, a gold merchant from Lingamdinne village.

According to Allagadda Circle Inspector Ramana, the trio was apprehended near the Avadhuta Kasinayana Ashram area. Police recovered 5.80 kg of silver bricks, valued at approximately Rs 14.76 lakh, which were allegedly converted from the stolen temple ornaments.

The theft had been reported a few days ago, prompting a prompt investigation. Authorities confirmed that the suspects were involved in planning and executing the crime, leading to swift arrests and recovery of the stolen valuables.
