CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — A report of suspected drug activity and possible unlawful restraint led to two arrests in Logan County over the weekend.
According to the West Virginia State Police, troopers received a complaint Saturday about potential drug activity at a residence on Morning Glory Drive in Chapmanville. Authorities were also told that individuals inside the home might be held against their will.
Troopers executed a raid at the residence and arrested 49-year-old Chad Williams of Chapmanville, who lives at the home. During the search, officers seized a significant quantity of suspected fentanyl, along with firearms and cash.
Williams faces multiple charges, including parole and probation violations, three counts of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to deliver fentanyl, and unlawful restraint.
Also arrested was 30-year-old Rolland Reddick of Canton, Ohio. Investigators said Reddick initially provided a false name to officers. Once his true identity was confirmed, authorities discovered he was wanted in Ohio as a fugitive from justice. He is charged with fugitive from justice, obstruction, and providing false information to law enforcement.
Both men were transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail.
