Chad Rouse, a 32-year-old man from Carthage, North Carolina, is facing several drug and weapon-related charges after police responded to a medical call at a business on October 12, 2024. Aberdeen Police were called to the scene off Highway 5 and Anderson Street, where they found CPR being performed on an individual.
As officers investigated, they searched the vehicle Rouse was driving, with the owner’s consent. Inside the vehicle, police discovered a handgun, a large sum of cash, and a box containing suspected narcotics. Among the drugs found were 240 dosages of suspected Xanax and over 100 grams of unidentified controlled substances, which will undergo testing at the State Crime Lab.
Rouse has been charged with felony possession of Schedule IV narcotics, intent to sell and deliver, maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held at the Moore County Detention Center without bond.
