Chad Hefter Charged in Exxon Store Burglary in New Holland

Pottstown man arrested after April break-in and theft

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A Pottstown man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a New Holland convenience store in the early hours of April 7.

Authorities say 41-year-old Chad Hefter shattered the front glass door of the Exxon store around 3:40 a.m. and stole several items. The incident prompted a joint investigation involving the New Holland Police Department and multiple regional law enforcement agencies, including Forks Township, Caernarvon Township, East Lampeter, and the Pennsylvania State Police.

Following a thorough review of evidence, investigators identified Hefter as the suspect.

He is now charged with:

Burglary

Criminal Trespass

Theft by Unlawful Taking

Possessing Instruments of a Crime

Criminal Mischief

Hefter is currently being held at Chester County Prison.
