CCB Cracks Down on Fake Degree Certificate Racket in City

Mohan from Sunkadakatte accused of selling counterfeit degrees

by Ananya Mehta

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has intensified its investigation into a fraudulent network involved in selling counterfeit degree certificates from various universities. The racket was exposed after a sting operation conducted by a city-based media house, which acted on a tip-off.

The accused, identified as Mohan from Sunkadakatte, was found selling fake educational certificates for degrees such as B.Tech, B.Pharm, and LLB from universities across the country.

According to police officials, the business was thriving, with certificates “selling like hotcakes.” Customers could simply pay a fee, choose the desired course, and within days, receive a certificate complete with official seals, signatures, and logos — all without ever attending a class or enrolling in the program.

The investigation continues as authorities work to apprehend Mohan and dismantle the network.
