CBI Uncovers Corruption Scandal Involving NAAC Officials and Educational Institution

Bribes Led to A++ NAAC Rating for Guntur Institution

In a significant corruption bust, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered a major scam involving officials from a Vaddeswaram educational institution in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, and ten members of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) inspection committee. The accused allegedly accepted bribes in exchange for awarding the institution an A++ NAAC rating.

The CBI has filed a case against the educational institution’s officials and the NAAC committee members. Investigations revealed that the institution’s authorities had paid bribes to secure a higher accreditation rating. Several prominent academicians and administrators are implicated in this fraudulent scheme.

As part of the operation, the CBI carried out raids at 20 different locations, including cities like Chennai, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Palamu, Sambalpur, Bhopal, Bilaspur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, and Delhi. The agency seized Rs 37 lakh in cash, six Lenovo laptops, an iPhone 16 Pro, a gold coin, and several incriminating documents during these searches.

The CBI is continuing its investigation into the case, aiming to uncover further details about the illegal activities within the educational accreditation system.
