The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Dixit Patel, chairman and one of the owners of Jay Jalaram International School in Godhra, following extensive questioning on Sunday. This marks the sixth arrest related to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) paper leak scam currently under investigation.

Dixit Patel was initially called for interrogation at the B Division Police Station in Godhra and later moved to the Godhra Circuit House, where he was formally arrested. Following his arrest, he underwent a medical examination at Godhra Civil Hospital and was presented before the Godhra Court. The court has directed the CBI to present him before the designated court in Ahmedabad.

Sources indicate that Patel was arrested on suspicions of being in contact with other accused individuals involved in the scam. Additionally, Ketki Patel, the principal of Jay Jalaram School—an exam center for NEET-UG—was also summoned for questioning, and her residence was searched by the agency.

On Saturday, the CBI conducted searches at seven locations across Gujarat related to the case, including the bungalow of Dixit in Anand and another of his schools in Kheda. The agency had previously secured the remand of five other individuals linked to the investigation, including education consultant Parshuram Roy and several staff members from the Jay Jalaram School.
