Catrien Van Petten Convicted of Fentanyl Conspiracy Near School

Manhattan woman found guilty of drug charges involving fentanyl, meth

A Manhattan woman, Catrien Ann Van Petten, 36, was convicted Wednesday in Riley County District Court on five drug-related charges, including conspiracy to distribute fentanyl near a school.

Van Petten was found guilty of conspiracy to distribute more than 1,000 units of fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine within the same restricted zone, possession with intent to distribute between 10 and 99 units of fentanyl near a school, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was arrested in May 2024 after Riley County Police found over 7,000 fentanyl pills linked to her drug activity. Her trial, overseen by Judge John Bosch, began Tuesday and concluded a day ahead of schedule.

Van Petten’s sentencing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on November 10.
