PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (BTW21) – A 37-year-old woman is facing serious charges after an early morning shooting in Pittsylvania County on Wednesday.
According to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a home on Cascade Mill Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a male victim inside the residence suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders treated the victim at the scene. Authorities later confirmed that he is in stable condition.
The sheriff’s office stated there is no ongoing threat to the public and that the incident appears to have been isolated to the specific location.
A K-9 unit was deployed to search the area, leading to the arrest of Catherine Revel, 37. She was charged with Aggravated Malicious Wounding, and officials say additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation progresses.
