FAIRFIELD, Calif. (FOX40.COM) — A woman was arrested Tuesday evening in connection with two armed robberies that occurred within an hour on Business Center Drive in Fairfield.
According to the Fairfield Police Department (FPD), the first incident happened at approximately 6:10 p.m. at a business located in the 5000 block of Business Center Drive. Surveillance footage led officers to conduct a search of nearby hotels for a suspect matching the provided description.
During the search, a hotel employee recognized the suspect as a guest who had not yet returned to her room, authorities said.
While officers were still investigating the first robbery, a second armed robbery occurred at another nearby business on the same street around 7:14 p.m. The suspect’s description matched that of the first robbery.
Police quickly located the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Castanya Tompkins, walking eastbound on Business Center Drive near Green Valley Road.
Officers arrested Tompkins and recovered a stolen firearm—originally reported stolen from Richmond—as well as a large amount of cash.
Tompkins was booked into Solano County Jail on charges of robbery and receipt of stolen property.
