Cassandra Carroll Arrested in Wake County Fraud Case

Deputies cite identity theft, bank fraud charges

A Raleigh woman has been arrested and is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation into alleged fraud in Wake County.

According to Wake County deputies, a local couple reported suspicious activity on their bank account in October 2025. The activity included fraudulent transactions and attempted transfers totaling thousands of dollars.

After an investigation conducted in coordination with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, deputies arrested 34-year-old Cassandra Carroll on Thursday.

Carroll is charged with felony identity theft, exploitation of an older or disabled adult, obtaining property by false pretense, attempting to obtain property by false pretense, and unauthorized access to computers.

Authorities said Carroll is being held on a $50,000 bond. She is scheduled to return to court at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12.
