Casey Drake Moore, 25, of Nettleton, was arrested Feb. 13 and charged with two counts of sexual battery of a child under 14 following an investigation in Lee County.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said it was notified by Child Protective Services regarding possible sexual abuse involving a child younger than 6. Their Criminal Investigation Division confirmed allegations of sexual assault against the child.
Authorities allege Moore committed sexual acts on at least two occasions. Investigators also indicated a similar incident may have occurred in another jurisdiction, and information is being shared with officials there to assist in a separate investigation.
A Lee County Justice Court judge set Moore’s bond at $500,000. The sheriff’s office thanked CPS and the Easter Seals of Mississippi Child Advocacy Center for their assistance. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
