SUMTER COUNTY — Carlos Anibal Perez Orozco, 32, of Belleview, was arrested early Sunday morning after deputies discovered he was driving with a revoked license linked to a prior DUI conviction.

At approximately 12:10 a.m., Perez Orozco was stopped in an open parking lot at Lake Sumter Landing while driving a red 2019 Acura. A license plate check revealed the vehicle’s registered owner had a revoked license, prompting a traffic stop.

During the stop, Perez Orozco presented a generic international driver’s license card, a Guatemalan ID card, and a passport, but none contained valid driving permits or authorizations.

Records showed that Perez Orozco was convicted of driving under the influence in Marion County in 2020. He was charged with driving while license revoked for DUI and booked into the Sumter County Detention Center.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer on Perez Orozco, holding him in custody pending further action.
