OAKLEY, Ohio (WKRC) – Carl Leggett, a suspected serial thief, has been charged after allegedly breaking into four Oakley businesses, with three occurring on the same day.
On Thursday, police say Leggett targeted Condado Tacos, Top Nails, and the Bagelry, all located on Vandercar Way and Madison Avenue. He was able to access the safe at Top Nails and stole safes from the other two businesses, according to court documents. Additionally, police report that Leggett stole the Bagelry’s van, which featured the store’s logo.
Investigators also connected Leggett to a break-in at 1st Wok on Paxton Avenue, where his fingerprints were found. The restaurant’s glass door had been smashed. Further complaints revealed that he stole a register from Hollywood Feed and took money from Currito on October 13, as well as $40 from Izzy’s Restaurant on October 19.
Leggett has been ordered to remain in custody with a $40,000 bond. He is set to appear in court again on Saturday to face charges related to breaking and entering at both Izzy’s on Red Bank and Hollywood Feed on Michigan Avenue last month.
