A Cape Coral man, Ar’ke Benjamin El Cuff, is facing multiple drug and theft-related charges after fleeing a traffic stop in Mulberry on Sunday night.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, deputies pulled over a white Toyota Camry on Church Avenue at 9:53 p.m. on March 9th. The driver, appearing agitated, stepped out of the vehicle, prompting a deputy to notice a clear pipe on the driver’s seat. When asked to step away from the car, the suspect responded, “You can have that, and you can have the whole car,” before fleeing on foot.

Deputies quickly apprehended him near Christina Animal Hospital. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a backpack containing his Florida ID, confirming his identity as 44-year-old Ar’ke Benjamin El Cuff.

What Deputies Found in the Vehicle:
A Florida ID belonging to another person
0.33 grams of heroin
17.7 grams of methamphetamine
3.76 grams of marijuana
El Cuff was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail. He faces multiple felony charges, including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia possession, driving without a license, and resisting arrest.
