Cameron Howard Campbell Arrested in Auburn for Auto Theft, Drug Charges

Traffic stop uncovers two stolen vehicles and narcotics in suspect's car

Auburn Man Cameron Howard Campbell Arrested for Vehicle Theft, Drug Possession After Traffic Stop

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) – A routine traffic stop in Auburn led to the arrest of 29-year-old Cameron Howard Campbell, who now faces multiple charges including auto theft and drug possession.

On September 5, Auburn Police officers pulled over a vehicle near South College Street and Interstate 85 for a traffic violation. During the stop, officers observed signs of criminal activity related to auto theft.

Upon further investigation, police determined that the vehicle Campbell was driving had been stolen overnight from the 2000 block of Sara Street. Detectives also linked him to a previous vehicle theft from the 4300 block of Golf Club Drive on September 1.

In addition to the stolen vehicles, officers discovered narcotics and prescription drugs in Campbell’s possession.

Campbell has been formally charged with:

Two counts of Theft of Property – First Degree

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Illegal Possession of Prescription Drugs

He was booked into the Lee County Jail with bond set at $12,500.
