SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Calvin Taylor, 42, of Aberdeen, South Dakota, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance, U.S. Attorney Ron Parsons announced Wednesday.

Taylor also received five years of supervised release, a fine, and a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. He was indicted by a federal grand jury in November 2024 and pleaded guilty in June 2025.

Authorities say that beginning in February 2024, Taylor had packages of methamphetamine mailed from a California source to multiple addresses in Aberdeen. He sold the meth to members of a larger conspiracy for local distribution. At sentencing, approximately 4.5 pounds of meth were attributed to him.

Taylor is required to self-report to the U.S. Marshals Service on or before December 26, 2025.
