In a significant narcotics raid, Calangute Police arrested Akhil Mhalasekar (24), a resident of Saligao-Bardez, for allegedly possessing MDMA drugs worth Rs. 2.50 lakhs. The arrest followed a tip-off received by the police from reliable sources indicating that a male individual would be delivering narcotic substances to potential customers in Naikawado.
Based on the information, the police conducted a raid at the location, with panchas present during the operation. During the search, the narcotic drugs were seized from Mhalasekar’s possession.
A complaint regarding the illegal possession of the drugs was filed by PSI Shri. Paresh Sinari of Calangute Police Station, and a case was registered under the NDPS Act, 1985 by PSI Shri. Yogesh L Mandrekar.
The ongoing investigation is being supervised by PI Shri. Paresh Naik of Calangute Police Station, with overall supervision by SDPO Porvorim Shri. Vishwesh Karpe and SP North Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
