A 26-year-old man, Cailum Jones from Gwenfro, Wrexham, has been sentenced to two years in prison for domestic violence against his former partner.
Appearing at Mold Crown Court on February 6th, Jones pleaded guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm and two counts of assault. He also received a five-year restraining order to protect the victim.
The incident occurred in the early hours of November 11th, when police responded to a call at the victim’s home. Jones had reportedly punched her in the face, causing cuts above her lip and chipping her teeth.
After his arrest, Jones was released on bail with conditions not to contact the victim. However, she later disclosed multiple assaults over the past year, including incidents where Jones had grabbed her by the hair during arguments.
Jones breached his bail conditions shortly after and was recharged. Detective Constable Troy Williams emphasized that violent behavior toward women is intolerable, urging victims to speak up and report abuse.
