In a major narcotics bust, Mumbai Police arrested two Indonesian nationals from Jogeshwari (West) and seized 21.5 kg of high-grade hydroponic weed valued at Rs21.55 crore. The two accused—identified as Budi Wiyono (44) and Rakhmat Ardi Hidayat (39)—were taken into custody on Friday, following a targeted operation.
Acting on a tip-off about foreign nationals storing large quantities of drugs, officers from Oshiwara Police Station conducted a raid under the supervision of DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam. The operation led them to a rented residence in Jogeshwari where the contraband was discovered.
The seized narcotic—hydroponic weed—is known for its high potency and is typically cultivated using advanced indoor techniques. Investigators suspect that the two accused are part of a larger international syndicate involved in smuggling and distribution.
Authorities are now probing the duo’s travel history, contacts, and digital footprints to trace the full extent of the network.
