Budgam Police Arrest Akther Abbas Bhat, Suhail Bhat, Syed Ubaid

Three drug peddlers caught with charas and Bang Patri in Magam

In a significant anti-narcotics operation, Budgam Police arrested three individuals involved in drug trafficking in Magam, Jammu & Kashmir. The arrests were made during a routine patrol at Fire Service Link Road, Magam, when the suspects attempted to flee upon noticing the police.

The accused have been identified as Akther Abbas Bhat, son of Mohd Maqbool Bhat, resident of Yegipora; Suhail Bhat, son of Late Ali Mohd Bhat, resident of Kuchaypora; and Syed Ubaid-ul-Ashiq, son of Syed Ashiq Hussain, resident of Yegipora.

Police recovered approximately 12 grams of charas-like substance and 609 grams of processed Bang Patri from the trio. An FIR numbered 04/2026 has been registered at Magam Police Station, and further investigations are underway to identify other possible accomplices.

A spokesperson for J&K Police reaffirmed their commitment to curbing drug abuse and urged the public to provide information on illegal drug activities.
