BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A 68-year-old Birmingham man, Bruce Weldon, is being held on a $3,010,500 bond following drug trafficking arrests connected to multiple neighborhood complaints.

On June 3, 2025, detectives from the Birmingham Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on the 600 Block of 2nd Street North, resulting in Weldon’s arrest and the seizure of approximately $1,685 worth of narcotics, $6,487 in cash, and four firearms.

In a separate operation, the Birmingham Tactical Unit searched Weldon’s Bessemer residence, recovering an additional $16,650 in narcotics, $5,680 in cash, and three more firearms.

The investigation began after numerous residents reported suspicious drug activity in the area. Warrants issued by the Jefferson County Magistrate’s Office charge Weldon with two counts of drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogen), and possession of marijuana in the second degree.

The Birmingham Police Department reiterated its commitment to combating illegal narcotics and ensuring community safety.
