MILLVILLE, N.J. — A Millville man is facing multiple serious drug charges after authorities uncovered a large cache of opioids and a suspected drug manufacturing operation in his Cumberland County home.

Bruce G. Low Jr., 46, was charged with first-, second-, and third-degree drug offenses following a joint investigation by the New Jersey State Police and U.S. Customs and Border Protection, announced Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin on June 12.

The case began when customs officials flagged a suspicious shipment from India, which turned out to contain over six kilograms (13.2 pounds) of Tapentadol, a Schedule II prescription opioid. Authorities conducted a controlled delivery of the package to an address allegedly connected to Low on June 9, 2025.

After the delivery, investigators executed a search warrant at Low’s residence, where they found:

The opened Tapentadol shipment

Morphine

Drug processing tools: grinders, mixers, pill presses

Scales, packaging materials, cutting agents

A quantity of cash believed to be tied to drug sales

Both Tapentadol and morphine are highly regulated opioids due to their addictive potential and serious health risks when misused. Officials noted the significant public safety threat posed by such an illicit operation.

Charges and Potential Penalties:
First-degree CDS manufacturing: 10–20 years in prison, up to $200,000 fine

Second-degree possession with intent to distribute: 5–10 years, up to $150,000 fine

Third-degree simple possession: 3–5 years, up to $15,000 fine

The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Heather Hausleben, under the supervision of Deputy Director Erik Daab, and remains under active investigation by the New Jersey State Police.

Authorities remind the public that all charges are allegations, and Bruce Low Jr. is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
