Brownsville Man Arrested for Alleged Burglary and Theft

David James, 65, charged after stealing and selling a stolen canopy

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – A 65-year-old Brownsville man has been charged in connection to a burglary incident, according to authorities.

On Monday morning, at around 10:30 a.m., the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspected burglary on Papa Court. Deputies were informed that David James, a local resident, had stolen a canopy from a trailer.

While investigating, deputies located James at the intersection of Mammoth Cave Road and Highway 70. At that time, he was seen selling tomatoes under the stolen canopy.

James was subsequently arrested and transported to the Hart County Jail. He is facing charges of second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief in connection with the theft.
