OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) – Two men were arrested early Sunday morning after leading Daviess County deputies on a high-speed chase that reached 100 miles per hour and ended in a crash.
Deputies with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office say they spotted a vehicle swerving on Highway 144 near Daniels Lane around 2 a.m. and attempted a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped off.
The vehicle lost control while trying to turn onto Jones Road, crashing into a ditch. The driver, later identified as 22-year-old Brodi Pollard, fled the scene on foot but was apprehended after a short pursuit. Deputies say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
A search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, alcohol, and drug paraphernalia, including items consistent with drug trafficking.
The passenger, 41-year-old Randy Barnes, was also arrested at the scene. Authorities noted that Barnes had an active warrant for failure to appear in Daviess County Circuit Court.
