Brockton Homicide Arrests: Two Men Charged in Fatal Shooting
BROCKTON (WBSM) — Authorities have made arrests in connection with a fatal shooting in Brockton that occurred on July 27, 2023. According to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Brockton Police and Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to reports of gunfire at 27 Vesey Street, where they discovered 22-year-old Romualdy Pierre-Charles suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.
Pierre-Charles, a Brockton resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the shooting, law enforcement officials launched an investigation that led them to issue an arrest warrant for Marcus Miranda, 20, on charges of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm. On July 28, just before 5 p.m., Miranda was apprehended at Logan International Airport while allegedly attempting to leave the United States.
In addition to Miranda’s arrest, officials filed a murder charge against 23-year-old Govanni Carapinha, who was already in custody on unrelated charges.
Miranda is expected to be arraigned in Brockton District Court. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
