HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Two Vanderburgh County residents were arrested after sheriff’s deputies found their home in deplorable conditions, with nine neglected dogs living inside.
According to an affidavit obtained by Eyewitness News, deputies were called to North Red Bank Road to assist animal control with a neglect case. Upon arrival, they found Brittany Lickey, 32, and Joshua Anderson, 37, sitting in the backyard of their trailer.
During a search of the home, deputies discovered unsanitary conditions, including six inches of animal feces inside a dog kennel, scattered throughout the trailer, and mixed in with blankets.
Authorities determined the dogs had never received vaccinations or veterinary care. Following an investigation, Lickey and Anderson were arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on animal neglect charges.
