Denpasar, Bali – Bali’s National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has arrested three foreign nationals linked to an international drug syndicate, accusing them of using drug trafficking to fund their stay on the island.

The suspects were identified as:

TP (Thomas Parker), 32, from the United Kingdom
AZ, 41, from Russia
MI, 30, from Ukraine
According to Commissioner I Made Sinar Subawa, Head of Eradication at BNN Bali, the suspects refused to cooperate with investigators, making it difficult to trace their suppliers and distribution networks.

Details of the Arrests
Thomas Parker (UK): Arrested on January 21 in Kerobokan, Badung, after officers saw him panic and discard a package upon receiving it from a courier. The package contained 1.05kg of MDMA (ecstasy).
AZ (Russia): Arrested at Ngurah Rai International Airport on January 26, arriving from Phuket, Thailand. Authorities found a suspicious yellowish-brown paste, suspected to be marijuana, concealed inside a body moisturizer container.
MI (Ukraine): Apprehended at a villa in Kerobokan on January 31, after receiving 1.3kg of “happy water”, a narcotic-laced cocktail often containing MDMA and other stimulants.
Severe Legal Consequences
The three suspects have been charged under Indonesia’s strict narcotics laws (Law No. 35 of 2009), specifically Article 114 (2), Article 113 (2), and Article 112 (2). If convicted, they face:
✅ The death penalty
✅ Life imprisonment
✅ A minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison

Authorities are now investigating whether the suspects were part of a larger international drug network operating in Indonesia.
