BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Five people were arrested Friday following a lengthy investigation into illegal narcotics sales in and around the Greene Homes Housing Complex, Bridgeport police said.
The operation involved the Bridgeport Task Force, FBI Safe Streets, Connecticut State Police, and four other local departments, who executed eight search warrants at six residences in the city.
Police reported seizing:
Two Glock handguns, modified to be fully automatic
High-capacity magazines
Quantities of crack cocaine
Approximately $5,000 in cash
The arrested individuals and charges are:
Kimani Morris – Three counts of sale of narcotics, held on $350,000 bond
Marc Busanet – Three counts of sale of narcotics, $350,000 bond
Russell Gilchrist – Two counts of sale of narcotics, $275,000 bond
Koree Jacobs – Three counts of sale of narcotics, $350,000 bond
John Matthews – Three counts of sale of narcotics, $350,000 bond
Additionally, an unidentified juvenile faces multiple firearms-related charges, including criminal possession of a firearm, high-capacity magazine, illegal transfer of a pistol, possession of ammunition, failure to register a machine gun, and illegal possession of a machine gun.
Authorities emphasized that the coordinated, multi-agency effort targeted illegal narcotics distribution and associated firearm crimes in the community.
