EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) — A woman from Indianapolis has been charged in Evansville for her role in an organized retail theft involving thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise.

According to the Evansville Police Department, Brianna S. Johnson, 26, was arrested Tuesday afternoon and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on organized theft charges.

Detectives say the investigation began after a shoplifting incident at Ulta Beauty on November 11, 2024. Surveillance footage reportedly showed three suspects grabbing products from store shelves, stuffing them into bags, and leaving without paying.

Police say the suspects fled the scene in a rental car, and the total value of the stolen merchandise was nearly $5,600.

Online court records show that another suspect, Janiya Wilkerson, is scheduled to appear in court next month, while Dunisha Pinner, the third suspect, accepted a plea deal. Pinner received a two-year suspended sentence and must repay $1,200 in restitution at $50 per month.

Johnson remains in custody pending further court proceedings.
