Brian Dill Arrested for Burglary, Domestic Violence in San Luis Obispo

Suspect Broke Into Ex-Girlfriend’s Home Twice, Strangled Her

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – A 41-year-old man was arrested on felony charges after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment twice, strangling her, and ramming another vehicle in a dramatic series of events early Monday morning.

Incident Details
According to the San Luis Obispo Police Department (SLOPD), officers responded to a 911 call at 1 a.m. on Feb. 24 from a woman reporting that her ex-boyfriend, Brian Dill, had just broken into her apartment and assaulted her.

She told authorities that Dill had strangled her before fleeing the scene.

While she was still on the phone with 911, Dill returned and used a hammer to smash one of her apartment windows, prompting an urgent police response.

Pursuit and Arrest
Officers spotted Dill leaving the area in his car but lost sight of him near the freeway. Shortly after, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) alerted SLOPD that the same vehicle had rammed another car on northbound Highway 101 at California Boulevard.

Dill’s car was later found near Santa Rosa Park, where he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Charges
Brian Dill was arrested and is facing multiple felony charges, including:

Felony domestic violence
Felony burglary
Hit-and-run (pending further investigation)
Authorities have not yet released details on Dill’s court appearance or bail status.
