Brian Davis, 34, was taken into custody after a major drug and weapons bust at an apartment complex in Rockford, Illinois, authorities said.
The Rockford Police Department responded to the 4400 block of Carthage Drive on September 14 after reports that Davis, already wanted for vehicle theft, was armed and dangerous. By the time officers arrived, Davis had fled the scene.
On September 19, a tip about a “suspicious man with a satchel” brought officers back to the complex. Davis attempted to flee but was cornered by officers and eventually arrested with a search warrant executed by the department’s Violent Crime and Gang Unit.
Inside the apartment, police found:
Over 71 grams of methamphetamine
More than 300 grams of cannabis
A taser
Two handguns
Ammunition in five calibers
Ammunition also found in a stolen vehicle tied to Davis
Two other individuals, Dominique Cotton, 37, and Courtney Feltz, 31, were also arrested. Cotton had a warrant for domestic battery, and Feltz was charged with meth possession.
Davis faces a lengthy list of charges, including:
Possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine
Possession with intent to deliver cannabis
Eight counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon
Possession of firearms without a FOID
Possession of a stolen vehicle
Outstanding warrants for burglary, retail theft, and stolen vehicle possession
Wisconsin DOC hold
All three suspects are currently held at the Winnebago County Jail.
