ALBANY, N.Y. — An Albany man has been convicted for his role in a violent attack last year.

Brian Briggs, 33, was found guilty of first-degree robbery and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The incident occurred on May 12, 2025, following an argument between Briggs and his mother. Prosecutors said a maintenance worker attempted to intervene in the dispute, at which point Briggs pulled out a firearm. Authorities said Briggs then stole the worker’s phone, keys, and a lanyard.

Briggs now faces up to 40 years in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on April 6.
