Brewer Police Arrest Three in Drug, Child Endangerment Case

Cocaine seized in drug-free zone during multi-location raid

by Amelia Crawford

BREWER, Maine — The Brewer Police Department arrested three individuals on Wednesday on drug and child endangerment charges following the execution of a search warrant at two separate locations.

Officers first served a warrant at an apartment on Union Street, where they found two people and an undisclosed amount of cocaine base. Those two suspects were taken into custody and transported to Penobscot County Jail.

Further investigation during the operation led to a second search warrant at a residence on Fling Street. There, police arrested a third individual and seized additional cocaine base.

Corporal Christopher Woodman and Officer Jasmine Sallies led the investigation, with support from Brewer Code Enforcement and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Authorities noted the drug charges were heightened because some offenses occurred within a designated drug-free safe zone, suggesting the involvement of school grounds. Two suspects were also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The arrested individuals are:

Jennifer Arnold, 57, of Brewer, charged with violating conditions of release and drug possession.

Shaquille Wright, 32, of Brewer, charged with child endangerment and aggravated drug trafficking.

Nicole Pelkey, 37, of Brewer, charged with child endangerment, aggravated drug trafficking, and drug furnishing.

All three remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
