TULSA, OK — A 34-year-old man accused of stealing a pickup truck was arrested after leading police to a home and attempting to hide in a backyard dog house.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, the case began on February 23 when a man reported his blue Chevy Silverado stolen from a Home Depot parking lot near 41st Street and Sheridan Road. The victim told officers his keys may have fallen from his pocket.
On March 16 around 7:45 p.m., police were alerted by the department’s Real Time Information Center that the stolen truck—now displaying a stolen license plate—had been spotted near Virgin Street and North Peoria Avenue. Officers followed the vehicle to a residence near Admiral Boulevard and South 105th East Place.
The driver, identified as Brenton Robinson, fled on foot after pulling into the driveway. A passenger was detained at the scene.
Police deployed a K-9 unit to search the area and later located Robinson hiding inside a dog house in a nearby backyard. He was bitten by the K-9 during the apprehension and taken to a hospital for treatment before being released.
Robinson was then booked into the Tulsa County Jail. He faces charges including possession of a stolen vehicle after a prior felony conviction, resisting arrest, and driving without a license.
