ARDMORE, Okla. — An Ardmore man has been sentenced to a decade in prison followed by 10 years of probation after being convicted of first-degree burglary, authorities confirmed Thursday.
Brendan Thomason, an Ardmore resident, was sentenced after a years-long investigation into suspicious and escalating behavior in the city’s southwest quadrant. Ardmore police said reports first surfaced approximately four years ago, alleging Thomason had been entering private properties late at night.
According to police spokesperson Sgt. Matt Dunn, Thomason’s actions intensified over time, evolving into stalking behavior that included lingering around homes and leaving handwritten notes on residents’ windows.
The investigation ultimately led to Thomason being charged after he unlawfully entered an occupied residence, a crime that significantly heightened concern among neighborhood residents. Sgt. Dunn said the fear generated by the incidents caused some families to relocate, worried they could be targeted next.
Following his conviction, Thomason received a sentence of 10 years in jail, followed by an additional 10 years of probation. Authorities said the sentence reflects the seriousness of the crime and the prolonged pattern of behavior that preceded it.
