Jonesboro teen linked to violent attack, prior shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man with a violent criminal history is facing multiple felony charges — including a Class Y felony punishable by life in prison — following an alleged armed robbery that left one man hospitalized with serious injuries.

Brayan Daniel Enriquez Toledo, 19, was arrested June 9, 2025, after officers with the Jonesboro Police Department responded to a reported disturbance on French Street. At the scene, they found a male victim with visible injuries, including bleeding from the mouth and a shoulder injury. The victim claimed he was attacked by three males, two of whom were reportedly armed with firearms — one with a rifle and one with a handgun.

While officers were speaking with the victim, several individuals were seen fleeing from the back of a nearby house on Gilbert Street. Police apprehended one of the suspects, a juvenile, who was identified by the victim as an assailant and the person who stole his phone.

Investigators discovered that Toledo resided at the Gilbert Street address and was on probation with a search waiver. Inside the home, they located the victim’s stolen cell phone in Toledo’s bedroom, and a black handgun inside a baby crib. Another juvenile suspect, also identified by the victim, was found in the house and taken into custody.

During questioning, one of the juvenile suspects confirmed that Toledo had directed him to hide the handgun after the attack. Although he was instructed to stash it in the backyard, the juvenile said he hid it in the crib instead.

The injured victim was later transported to Memphis for treatment after doctors discovered a brain bleed. His condition at the time was described as lethargic and incoherent.

Toledo now faces several charges:

Aggravated Robbery – Class Y Felony

Possession of Firearm by Certain Persons – Class B Felony

Second-Degree Battery – Class D Felony

Fleeing – Misdemeanor

Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor – Class A Misdemeanor

Judge David Boling set Toledo’s bail at $500,000 cash or surety, with conditions including no contact with the victim and a GPS ankle monitor.

Court records show that just two months earlier, in April 2025, Toledo pleaded guilty to first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree assault, avoiding trial on more serious charges including terroristic threatening and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Toledo was also previously involved in a 2022 shooting when, at age 15, he allegedly shot and killed a 17-year-old inside a home on French Street. While he claimed the shooting was accidental, authorities noted inconsistencies in his story and were never able to recover the firearm. He was initially charged with first-degree murder but the outcome of that case is unclear. The latest affidavit indicates he was convicted, though records may be sealed due to juvenile court transfer.

Toledo remains in custody as of this report.
