Two people have been arrested in connection with a reported livestock theft in rural Louisiana, where several chickens were stolen from a secured chick coop in Evangeline Parish.
According to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), deputies responded to a theft report on March 27 at a location in the 1000 block of Old Park Road. Following a review of security footage and further investigation, authorities identified 33-year-old Brannon Buller of Ville Platte as a suspect.
While the investigation was ongoing, the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office informed EPSO that Buller was wanted in their jurisdiction as well. He and a female accomplice, identified only as Leblue, were both taken into custody. Authorities say both individuals admitted to stealing the chickens, and some of the livestock was recovered.
Leblue faces three counts of principal to theft of livestock and is being held in the Evangeline Parish Jail on a $30,000 bond.
Buller has been charged in Allen Parish with multiple offenses, including one count each of theft of livestock, simple criminal damage to property, misdemeanor theft, and criminal trespassing. He is currently held in the Allen Parish Jail on a $40,000 bond and is awaiting extradition to Evangeline Parish.
The investigation remains active, and the sheriff’s office has indicated that additional charges or arrests may follow. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact EPSO’s Investigative Division at (337) 363-2161.
