Two women from Walnut Ridge were arrested this week for theft at Walmart in Paragould, just days after each had pleaded guilty to separate theft charges.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on December 5, 2024, Paragould Police responded to a shoplifting report at Walmart, located at 2802 W. Kingshighway. Employees reported that the suspects were seen concealing items in their purses. Police recovered stolen property valued at $224.70.
Further investigation revealed that both women had pled guilty to theft by receiving on December 2, 2024. During Mirandized interviews, both women reportedly made self-incriminating statements regarding the theft.
Brandy Oden, 45, of Walnut Ridge, was arrested for felony theft of property, a Class D felony due to her prior theft convictions within the last ten years. Her bail was set at $10,000 cash or surety, and she is banned from returning to any Walmart properties in the future.
Joanna Goodrich, 43, of Walnut Ridge, was also arrested for felony theft of property, as her prior theft conviction also elevated the charge to a felony.
