SODUS, N.Y. —
A Wayne County couple has been arrested following a months-long investigation into alleged child abuse, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Brandy Michels, 28, and Dustin Wiemer, 30, both of North Centenary Road in Sodus, were taken into custody on Tuesday.
The charges stem from a June 27 incident in which a minor child in their care suffered multiple bruises to the head and a healing burn mark on her ankle.
Both Michels and Wiemer were charged with second-degree assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
They were taken to the Wayne County Jail and are awaiting arraignment in CAP Court.
No further details were immediately released as the investigation remains ongoing.
