CLAY COUNTY, Ark. — Brandon Wolner, 36, of Corning, has been arrested on five counts of theft after allegedly taking money from clients as a contractor and failing to complete the work.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Wolner on Jan. 20 following multiple complaints of him accepting payments for services or materials and never delivering. “There were also complaints of him being given money to buy material and never showing up with the material,” Sheriff Ronnie Cole said.
After consulting with Prosecuting Attorney Mike Trail, deputies obtained an arrest warrant. Wolner was taken into custody on Monday, Feb. 9, and booked into the Clay County Detention Center.
Authorities are still taking statements and encourage anyone who may have been a victim of Wolner’s alleged scheme to contact the sheriff’s office at 870-598-2270.
