Brandon Wayne Charged in $2.1K Yorktown Walmart Theft

Caught hiding in McDonald's after fleeing Walmart staff

YORKTOWN, VA (WAVY) — A 36-year-old man was arrested after allegedly stealing over $2,100 in electronics from the Yorktown Walmart on July 10, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office.

Around 2:30 p.m., Walmart Loss Prevention officers confronted the suspect, later identified as Brandon Mason Wayne, during the suspected theft. Wayne fled the scene on foot and was soon found by deputies inside the McDonald’s restaurant located within the store.

He attempted to flee once again but was quickly caught and arrested by YPSO deputies.

Wayne now faces a felony grand larceny charge and is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. Deputies also confirmed that Wayne is wanted on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in the city of Hampton.
