TROUTMAN, N.C. – A late-night traffic stop on Charlotte Highway led to the arrest of 29-year-old Brandon Scott Brooks of Troutman on multiple charges, including possession of fentanyl.
At around 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21, Troutman Police officers pulled over a vehicle with a fictitious license plate at the intersection of Charlotte Highway and Julian Place. During the stop, officers spoke with the driver, identified as Brooks, and discovered a container in his possession that held fentanyl.
Brooks was taken into custody and charged with the following:
Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Driving while license revoked
Fictitious or altered registration, title, or tag
He was brought before a magistrate and given a $10,000 secured bond. Brooks is scheduled to appear in District Court on June 11.
